"C'mon Hallow, we'll grab some drinks, dance a little and have some fun!" 

Sighing The pale cold dark haired beauty was considering giving in to her fiery companions advances into going to the bar. 

"You really need to loosen up, I mean c'mon you bout blew a gasket just writing up a mission report, and not to mention biting off a marines head about-"

"ALRIGHT YOU WIN! LET’S GO!"

Sienna laughed aloud and hooked her arm through rains as they changed course towards the bar. I'm a matter of minutes the doors slid open and they stepped in. Sienna waved over to Malcom and quickly dragged rain over to his table. Sitting down Malcom leaned back in his chair with an amused grin. "What took you to lasses so long? Been drinking by myself for nearly a half an hour."

"Where's David? He came down here ahead of us..."

"Probably at the bar flirting like the terrible charmer he is..."

Sienna leaned back and shook her head at his answer to her question. "Have more faith than that in him sir..." Though she couldn't wipe the knowing look off her face. The Irishman rolled his eyes and passed both women a beer he had been saving for them. "Drink up!"

After a half an hour later laughter filled the air as the trio listened to Malcom's story about lord knows what. 

 Chuckling Malcom started getting up. "I'd better go grab us some more drinks-"

Rain stood and headed towards the bar waving over her shoulder as she tried to reign in her happy smile. "I got it."

Walking over gracefully she leaned up against the bar and ordered three beers from the bar tender while standing next to a local girl. Young, curvy in all the right places, bright blonde curls and quite the rack on her as well. Rain couldn't help but eavesdrop on the conversation, an old habit that she could never break herself of.

"Really now? A big strong good looking guy like you seriously doesn't have a woman back home waitin’ for you?"

"Yup, pure bachelor and stud sweet heart..." The local giggled like a high school girl while rain was suddenly set on the edge as she heard David’s sweet low velvety voice respond to her question. Luckily for her the bar tender came back with her beers and she picked one up and took a swig before walking past David and the school girl towards the door, knowing she sure as hell was gonna lose it if she stayed any longer. Sienna and Malcom were going to have to grab their own drinks… 

"Is that so?" The girl teased.

"Honey. No offense but I definitely can make the bed rock for you." 

Coming to a halt something snapped inside rain and her control went out the window. Before she knew it she socked David full force in the jaw, making him grab for the bar to steady himself. Reaching up to his jaw he turned around fucking pissed at the guy who had just punched him. Instead of a local bug tough guy he found a tall dark haired women stealing a bottle of scotch from the waiter and sauntered her way out of the bar.

He closed his eyes and sucked in a sharp breath.

“Fuuuuuuuck…..”

Tipping her head back Rain downed another swig of scotch, letting it sear down her throat  as she swallowed. Her braid was gone the second she entered the barracks. There were others there but she merely headed towards the back exit of the room and headed to the roof hoping to drown her anger and pain. 

“What the fuck david? You just had to say that didn’t you?” She said to her self in a drunken haze. Rain bowed her head and ran a hand through her trying to calm her self down. "Great Rain, just fucking great. You blew your your top and probably ruined any chances you had with him..." Sighing she rested her head against her knees, letting her hair drape around her face. 

Everything had been going so well, she was finally fully committed to the UNSC, gained the trust of her team members and had actually started falling for someone for the first time in years. Yes he happened to be on her team but she couldn't help it. He could be a tease, thick headed at times but he had a big heart and when it came do to it he was a damn loyal son of a gun. Not to mention he was pretty damn good lookin.

Groaning she fell back onto the roof, covering her face with her hands. Setting the bottle beside her she let out a heavy sigh trying to get her self together.

"Rain?"

"What." The ODST let out a annoyed hurt huff. Looking over she saw tall, dark and handsome walking across the rooftop to her position, as she laid there a complete and utter drunk mess. Rolling her eyes, Rain rolled onto her side away from him, knowing perfectly well it seemed childish. But it was either look away from him and try not to puke in front of him or embarrass her self further by hurling infront of him. So she went with the first option.

"C'mon rain, I'm sorry I really am! I didn't realize that what I said matter so much to you."

Rain let out an amused huff. Shaking her head, she slowly stood and faced him, scoffing. "You don't realize a lot of thing do you David?" That cold tone she used on others seeped into her voice but there was sadness in it as well which surprised the ODST and made him even more confused than he already was. "What the hell is that supposed to mean Hallow?" David was starting to become agitated with her...

Rain threw her hands up in the air. "God, sometimes you are so god damn oblivious to whats going on infront of you!"  she moved away from him and stopped a few feet away, turning back to face him. "What are you talking abou-"

"I LIKE YOU DAVID!!!"

The world suddenly came to a full stop for both officers.

Rain went wide eyed. Did she really just say that? OUT LOUD?! 'Well....I officially fucked this up.' She could help but look away in embarrassment, and for the first time in a long time to scared to even look at him.

David.... David was standing there completely dumbfounded and shocked. She... Liked him? This was great!!! His heart pounded rapidly in his chest with new excitement and in three long stride closed the gap between him and rain. Cupping her face he kissed her for the first time ever. He had been waiting so long to do that, too long in his mind. It tasted like a sweet scotch that needed to be savored, sweet and tart all at once. Definitely a taste he could get used too...

She stiffened at first completely caught off guard by his kiss, but as soon as he wrapped his strong arms around her waist, pulling her close, poor girl melted like putty into his embrace. Smoothly she wrapped her arms around Davids neck deepening he kiss between them. He pulled back catching his breath. It was only a moment before he leaned back in and kissed her again, again and again. Though due to the fact Rain couldn't walk let alone stand it only made sense to have her lean up against he wall, so they began to back up.

They walked surprisingly easily until she tripped over a pipe line and grabbed onto the nearest thing.... which happened to be Davids shirt.

Tumbling to the ground Rain groaned and then..... laughed. A true happy, whole hearted laugh. Not the half ass ones she does around the rest of the gang, a true laugh. He had never heard anything more heart warming than that. David was hovering just above her chuckling with her.  His heart singing and pounding with joy. It's not like he could help himself, he was a hopeless romantic. And right below him was one of the mos beautiful women he had ever met or seen in his life, sand she liked him back.

His warm caramel gaze into the the softening ice blue ones of Rain Hallow.
