Many years later….

“Reset the relays and it should work. “

“Mom!”

The elite guard nodded to the femme and continued to proceed to do as he was told. She turned and smiled at a young mech walking up to her.

“I trust that the patrol went well?”

“Of course, it would be more productive if you let us patrol in regions where there’s actual activity going on instead of pick off stragglers.”

“You know the rules ArchKnight. I don’t want you or anyone to alert the autobots or decepticons of our presence here.” The young mech frowned and looked down at his mother. She reached up and touched his cheek gently, looking up into his violet optics. “I know you want to help Knight, but we cannot interfere. At least not yet.”  He was still frowning making her sigh. “Walk with me for a minute.”

“You know you act more and more like your father everyday?” She began as they walked through the archives.

He let out a heavy sigh through his vents. “You only tell me that every time we have a conversation like this.” She smacked him upside the head. “But you have the mouth and personality of your mother.” She spoke slightly annoyed and continued walking. He chuckled and followed after her.

“The reason why I say it all the time is because you need to remind yourself that you have a father. Don’t think I don’t see how you tend to avoid others when it comes to talking about your parents. I see and hear everything that goes on in this facility and you know it so wipe that surprised look off your face.” The mech snapped his jaw shut and bowed his head slightly. “Good boy…”

She stopped and sighed. “Your father is here on earth ArchKnight… I’m telling you this because you have a right to know, and now you’re old enough too know why I left him…. Many years before I met your father I was given a mission to undertake. I was to gather relics and record information while I was helping the deceptions with their mission, just as your father was. But that wasn’t my true mission…” The femme walked over and leaned against the railing. She raised her arm and pointed towards the center of the archives, a massive glowing orb. “Inside that orb is one of the most power relics that no race should ever have in their hands. My mission was to find and recover that relic and safe guard it by any means necessary.” She lowered her hand and looked up at her son.

He had his father optics and build but his mother’s colors and personality. Though the personality she wished could’ve been a bit more like his father. But she was so proud of her son for becoming the young mech that she hoped for, that they had both hoped for. “Leaving your father was the hardest thing I have ever done in my life Knight. But if I had stayed with him, he would’ve been put into danger, both of you would’ve been put into danger!” She slammed her fist onto the railing, searing in anger and grief. Archnight put a hand onto his mother’s shoulder and tipped her head up wiping away her tears. A small smile was his reward. “And now soon you’ll become a part of this war, we all will…” She let out a strained laugh and began to cry again. “I left to protect you and him Knight…. I hope that one day your father will understand that.” Her son stared into her golden optics and smiled, reassuring his mother.

“He will, Willow… I know he will.”
