Neon looked down at the flower in her hands. For years she'd known her, bothered her and called her family. She never thought that she would be here, in sarrow. A familiar touch on her shoulder brought her back to the present, looking over her shoulder. Oliver stood there silently, but she knew he was trying to hold it together. Neon nodded to him and moved foreward to the lake. Oliver watched from a far waiting for this to be done with. Neon knew he never was one for saying goodbye, especially to loved ones. She looked over her shoulder once more at him, once she reached the shore. He was looking down at the ground in despair, and she didn't blame him. Neon looked away struggling against the tears that wanted to fall. She crouched down at the waters edge and looked down at the flower once more.
"I'm sorry for not bringing you home. Its my fault."
Her voiced cracked at the words she spoke. Tears had broken free and had begun to fall down her cheeks behind her visor. Neon gently threw the lily into the water in front of her. Never once she thought that she ever had to say goodbye to her. Neon stood slowly and wobbled a little when she got to her feet. The flower drifted farther and farther away from the shore into the lake. She let out a shakey breath and began to turn away for the last time. She glanced over her shoulder once she reached Oliver. A soft whisper escaped her lips.
Lily is no more. She was my First combat dissolved character and I'm sayin goodbye to her.
